I'm going back to the IPMS Nats!

I did the math. It's been 10 years since I've attended the IPMS National Convention! It was 2015, Columbus, Ohio. Excellent show, as those in the Midwest tend to be. Since then life got in the way to my getting back to the Nats, or maybe I didn't prioritize it.

I wonder what's changed over these last 10 years. Will the show be markedly different? Is there a different mood among the attendees?

Here are a few things I'll be watching for this week.

The quality of the contest entries at the Columbus Nats was high. But now, with the availability of so many new products and YouTube videos that show how to use them, will the quality of the models be even higher?

What entries in the Miscellaneous (my favorite category) will catch my eye?

Will the vendors offer discounts that drive sales or will those discounts fall short?

Will Eduard accept credit card payments?

Fantasy subjects have been very popular at figure shows over the last few years, so I wonder if we'll see that trend extend into IPMS?

For the vendors selling second-hand models, will they be priced to sell, or will they be near retail?

How much creativity will we see among the contest entry displays?

How long will it take before I run across that one smelly guy who's at every contest? 30 minutes? An hour? Two hours?

No matter, I'm really looking forward to the show and catching up with friends. See you there!
